Why I'm building this.

For a long stretch I lived inside a problem that was difficult to describe to anyone who didn't share it. Something in my body had stopped behaving the way it used to. The reasons sat at the intersection of half a dozen specialists, none of whom talked to each other, and none of whom had the time to hold the whole picture.

Each appointment began the same way. A new face, a clean folder, the same history told from the top. By the time I had explained the relevant context, the appointment was almost over and the part where we figured out what to actually do had shrunk to the last few minutes.

The thing that kept failing

It wasn't the doctors. The doctors were thoughtful. It wasn't the medications, or the tests, or the treatment plans. The thing that kept failing was the connecting tissue. The part that should have remembered, on my behalf, that the new recommendation in week six rubbed against a constraint we had set in week one. The part that should have noticed when the weather turned and warned my back before my back warned me.

I started keeping a notebook. Then a spreadsheet. Then three of them. None of it scaled. Notebooks don't notice things. Spreadsheets don't tell you when the morning is the wrong one for a long walk. What I needed was something that watched with me, between appointments, and held the picture for me when I couldn't.

What we made

Pivotical is an active intelligence that runs alongside the people who use it. It reads what you give it, observes the invisible variables, and actively generates the protocols for what happens next. It doesn't replace your clinician. It walks the long stretch of days between them with you.

We didn't build it because we saw a market opportunity. We built it because I needed it, and because every other person in the early group needed something like it for their own version of the same story.
