On language.
Words shape how a tool feels. We try not to call ourselves anything that sounds like a category we don't want to live in.
We don't call Pivotical a tracker. Tracking implies an obligation: log every meal, every step, every pill, and the more you put in, the more value you extract. People we make this for already carry an obligation the size of a part-time job. They don't need a second one.
We don't call it a platform either. Platforms host other people's work. Pivotical does the work, on your behalf, between the moments you're paying attention.
We use words like computing, observing, suggesting. They describe what the engine actually does and what it should feel like. An intelligence that runs the variables for you while you go about your day.
Language drifts. A team gets bigger, an investor asks for a stronger word, the deck wants something punchier. We try to come back to this note when that happens.
